Travel Plans
Effective travel planning is now a key part of the UK Government’s initiative to manage demand for travel. Our expert team have over 10 years’ experience in the development and implementation of residential, company, school, leisure, retail and area-based Travel Plans.
Bringing experience from local authority and private sector perspectives, our Travel Plan advice service has been accredited under the Government’s Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme. Our Pool Quarter Travel Plans has been used as an example within the Department for Transport’s Good Practice Guidelines: Delivering Travel Plans through the planning system. Furthermore recent Travel Plans for Tresham Institute have received exemplar assessments from independent consultants.
As well as offering advice under this scheme, we have worked for local authorities and private companies in the development of their Travel Plan strategies from inception to delivery.
With the commercial benefits of introducing a Travel Plan clearly outlined to all our clients, we look at ways to reduce dependence on the private car and to promote public transport, walking, cycling and other more “sustainable” modes of travel.
We are able to develop Travel Plans for:
Individual primary and secondary schools and school groupings
Advice is also available in developing Travel Plans in advance of planning permission and to meet planning conditions/Section 106 legal obligations.
We have experience in developing robust and measurable Travel Plan strategies that bring concrete results and healthy performance of the Travel Plan once it is put into action.
In partnership with the UK’s leading professional association dealing with Travel Plans, the Association for Commuter Transport, Foxley Tagg also offers a comprehensive training course “Travel Plans for Planners”.
Foxley Tagg has undertaken significant projects that involved the development and implimentation of a Travel Plan, details of which can be found below:
